Flower of the Month-June

Dahlias

Friday marks the first day of summer and time for us to switch seasons.  We have chosen dahlias for our monthly flower.   Their are around 36 different species of dahlias, which means a tremendous amount of color options. The flowers can be as small as 2” (5 cm) or up to a foot (30 cm) in diameter. The dahlia is named after Swedish 18th-century botanist Anders Dahl.  Take a look of a sample of photos I found of this wonderfully cheerful flower.
